It would seem as though Jacob is the good (light) side and the other dude is the bad (dark) side. Hard to say if that dude is the smoke monster due to Lockes body being unihabited...of course I do wonder if someone might have had a fake body placed on the plane. It wouldn't be the first time someone faked something big.
I did find it intersting that Jacob went out of his way to touch each person he visited. Do you suppose he put some sort of protection on them? Perhaps so they could survive a bomb going off?
So he IS the smoke monster.....now what do we do? AND, are Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Miles, Jin, sayid and Hurley in the same timeline as Sun, Ben, Lapidus and Un-Locke? (like that nickname? I made it myself)
